Binigyang kulay ng mahigit 100 mag-aaral mula sa walong paaralang kabilang sa UAAP ang Mall of Asia Arena upang gunitain ang grand opening ceremony para sa 82nd season ng UAAP noong lunes, ika- 1 ng Setyembre na siyang pinamunuan ng Ateneo de Manila University, ang host school ngayong season.
Kabilang ang Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, Adamson University, University of the East, Far Eastern University, at National University na dumalo suot ang kulay na rinereprisinta ng kani-kanilang mga unibersidad, sila rin ang mga unibersidad na sasabakt at maghaharap-harap sa bawat sports. 

Naghanda ng makulay na performance ang AdMU Blue Babble Batallion, The Company of Ateneo Dancers, at ang OPM artist na Spongecola at The Itchyworms upang magbigay-aliw sa mga taga-hanga ng walong paaralan at ang naging host ng programa ay ang dati ring volleyball player ng AdMU na si Gretchen Ho.

Samantala, ang layunin ng 82nd season ng UAAP ay ‘All for More’ at sinabi ng Presidente ng AdMU na siyang host ngayong season ay, “We’re always asked to do the better thing, the greater choice. Every victory, every defeat, will be more than ourselves, I hope the direction of our energy, of our effort is not just for self, not just for teammate, not just for school, but for country, for God.”
